The South Central Indiana (SCI) Chapter of the IMA has a very strong and proud history of accomplishments dating back to our inception in 1966. In addition to many achievements and recognition from the global IMA organization, our chapter has been awarded the IMA’s prestigious “Chair’s Award” seven times, the honor given out annually to the top global chapter with the highest level of performance over a five-year period. We have a strong tradition of engaged board members and leadership from past Presidents and have had the priviledge of having had several chapter members serve on the IMA global board of directors as well as on the leadership team of our regional council.
Our chapter conducts monthly meetings in the form of technical education luncheons where we bring in featured speakers and presenters that earn our members and attendees one hour of continued professional education (CPE) credit. We also host two all-day technical sessions, one in the fall and one in the spring, where 8 hours of CPE are offered to our members and guests. These monthly sessions are typically held the Third Thursday of each month, with our board meetings occuring around the same part of that week.
Other activities our chapter is involved in include:
- Co-Hosting (with Cummins Inc.) monthly Financial Management Network educational sessions which provide 4 hours of CPE credit.
- Support for the CMA program, including discounts on training material
- Annual local scholarship supporting students at Indiana University Purdue University at Columbus
- Philanthropic and community involvement support
